Complete Primary Technology (110/15 kV) for the ÖBB Substation Reith

High voltage switchgear (110 kV)
Medium voltage switchgear (15 kV, 16.7 Hz,
1-pole)

The substation Reith (Tyrol) of ÖBB Infrastruktur serves for reliable traction power backup of the Mittenwaldbahn as a substitute for the existing feeder lines "Zirl – Hochzirl" and "Zirl – Reith".

For this substation, Sprecher Auotmation delivered the overall primary technology consisting of a SPREPOWER HV switchgear (110 kV) and a SPREPOWER MV-M7 switchgear (15 kV), completed by services such as planning, calculations, installation and commissioning.

The HV switchgear consists of 5 bays: 2 x feeder, 1 x transformer, 1 x busbar sectionaliser, 1 x feeder for mobile substation. Furthermore, Sprecher Automation delivered:

  • Location diagram
  • Short-circuit and conductive continuity calculations
  • Force diagram for steel construction
  • Foundation and grounding plans
  • Cable laying, stranding and piping plans
  • Circuit and terminal diagrams

Sprecher Automation also delivered the SPREPOWER MV-M7 switchgear (15 kV, 4 bays), which was specifically developed for traction power supply:

  • 16.7 Hz
  • 1-pole
  • Metal-clad and metal-enclosed
  • Type-tested against EN 62271 200

Beside delivery of steel construction and the 110 kV switching devices, Sprecher Automation also installed all secondary systems.

The substation Reith started operation in March 2009.
