The "Julius-Raab-Heim" in Linz offers residence rooms to more than 900 students. The building consists of 4 sections with 2 basements, ground floor, 9 - 12 upper floors as well as an attic floor.

The "Oberösterreichische Studentenwerk" commissioned Sprecher Automation to completely modernise its electrical systems consisting of electric distribution, lighting, emergency lighting, switchboards and many more. All retrofit works had to be accomplished during operation.

Project range:

  • Modernisation of main distribution (withdrawable-unit design)
  • Modernisation of all floor distribution boards
  • Complete modernisation of all student rooms as well as floors, kitchens and other rooms (over 560 rooms in total)
  • Installation of an emergency lighting system with central battery
  • Complete retrofit of the canteen and the entrance hall
  • Installation of lighting switches and EIB-based lighting control

The modernisation works had been completed in March 2009.
