Automation technology combined with practical branchspecific experience and process know-how plays a more and more decisive role in the cement industries nowadays.

The whole system has to be available all around the clock. Furthermore, a wide range of requirements have to be met in order to ensure continuous production of high-quality cement: precise control and monitoring of processes, accurate capturing and control of process and system data, appropriate information for preventative maintenance.

From mining to shipment of the cement, automation covers the whole process of manufacture. Beside control of systems and machines, automation certainly involves transport handling between the different cement works sections. Therefore, the advantage of automation is clear at hand: speeding up and optimisation of the manufacturing process as well as minimising down times.

With SPRECEM, Sprecher Automation provides a complete solution as well as individual partial solutions for cement works automation. The product consists of visualisation, control systems and power supply.

Because of the multiplicity of cement sorts and the requirement of constant product quality, a sophisticated mill control and a flexible recipe handling are essential.

Sprecher Automation has gained wide experience in modernisation and automation of cement works through the years. This results in an outstanding process know-how which is to be integrated into all of the system conception.

Beside automation, SPRECEM also covers heavy-current engineering and drive engineering for cement works.


Control and process level

The supervision level acts as the head of the system hierarchy. It passes on the relevant data to the management information system (MIS). The whole cement works can be controlled and monitored by a customised visualising software
which also allows recording of all the relevant data.

The system architecture is based upon a redundant client/server concept. In case a client/server breaks down, another client/server takes over its function. Existing system components can be easily integrated into the new system by software-technical procedures. Furthermore, open interfaces allow connections to existing commercial IT systems.

The control cubicles with the control hardware (PLC) and specific software act as the interface to the production process.

The system can be easily extended due to its modular structure (easy to service). Furthermore, cable routes are simplified by decentralisation whereas networking through optical fibres additionally provides a higher interference


Power supply

With the product series SPREPOWER and SPRECON-E, Sprecher Automation provides all required low, medium and high voltage switchgears including secondary systems for automation and protection. This power supply package is completed by network calculations, building infrastructure and (building of) containers, retrofit as well as necessary maintenance and other service works.
