What you learn as a mechatronics apprentice:

  • Determination of necessary work steps, work equipment and work methods
  • Planning and controlling work processes and applying quality management systems
  • Assembling and installing mechanical, electrical and electronic parts, assemblies and components
  • Measuring and testing of electrical and mechanical engineering variables
  • Installation and testing of mechatronic hardware and software components
  • Installation and testing of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic controls
  • Programming, testing and maintaining of mechatronic systems
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding on mechatronic systems
  • Applying the relevant safety regulations and standards

The apprenticeship period is 3.5 years and the subsequent compulsory period of further employment is 6 months.

Attendance at the Linz 5 vocational school is in the form of a course of 10 weeks per class up to the 3rd year of the apprenticeship and 5 weeks in the 4th year of the apprenticeship.
