Log Photography with Database Connection

SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG-L

For daily legal transactions, tree logs must be assessed for their quality in the incoming goods department. SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG-L is used for photographing and archiving log images at log yards and thus creates the prerequisite for logging the quality assessment of incoming raw material.

SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG-L offers a database-based management of the log images at a longitudinal conveying speed of up to 240 m/min. In addition, the system offers connection options for a variety of customised software applications.

For example, the image data can be stored on a central server and accessed and analysed from an office workstation.

SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG-L/200 or 400 consists of 2 or 4 digital cameras and the PHOTOLOG computer, which contains the database for the log image management. Parameterisation and calibration (e.g. illumination settings) are carried out via the TFT screen supplied. SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG-L is network-connected to the log yard's control computer, which provides all the log data. This includes the truck number, protocol number, log number and data from the log measurement such as length, diameter, taper, curvature, type of wood and quality.

In addition, the control computer also checks the photograph of the respective log and signals to SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG-L the correct time for taking the picture from the front and from the back, and with PHOTOLOG-L/400 also for the lateral surface. The log images as well as the corresponding log data are stored on the SPRESCAN PHOTOLOG computer using a database.

All archived image data can be filtered, searched or selected on the basis of the log-specific information (filtering, for example, by date from/to, quality from/to, log dimensions, etc.).
